ARE to spend GHC 200,000 to combat HIV IN 90 communities

Oct 9th, 2012: ARE is commencing its third stage of the HEAL (Health, Education, Awareness and Literature) project from October 2012-September 2013. The Ghana Aids Commission is providing GHC 200,000 to fund this project. The HEAL 111 project will take place in the following districts in Central Region: Twifo-Ati-Mokwa/Hemang Lower Denkyira, Upper Denkyira East and West, Assin North and South and Abura Asebu Kwamankese.

ARE will be working with the youth in communities to reduce HIV infections by adopting HIV awareness for behavior change and capacity building approaches, which include community outreach exercises, Voluntary Counseling and Testing and support for those who have HIV.

 This project will be implemented by the Twifo Praso office staff, which includes Prince, Bentum, Foster, and Adam with technical support from Kofi, Ato and Philip. Stay tuned for more updates regarding the HEAL 111 project.
